This year, I chose to make croissants out of paper pulp. When I was 17 years old, I wanted to leave my teeny tiny island, Mauritius to study abroad. I had the choice between Australia and France. Obviously, I chose France for the food. The first thing I did when I landed was find a boulangerie and eat a butter croissant.
These croissants are not made with butter, but with egg cartons. As you can see in the video, the cartons are torn, soaked in water, then mixed with glue. They're then molded into croissants, left to dry for several days depending on the weather. Then primed, painted single-handedly, varnished and mounted on a thrifted frame.
There are only seven croissants per color, ❤️🧡💛💚💙🩷💜 If you'd like a particular one, please specify its number during check out. Otherwise, it'll be a random croissant. They're ready to hang and will be shipped the day after your purchase.
